Birthday Dinner at Blue Mussel Cafe on Prince Edward Island by Sean Berrigan

It was my 29th birthday last week and Vee decided to take me out. It was technically supposed to be a surprise, but since PEI is so small, this meant I sorta knew where we were going on the way or pretty much when we left. We had passed Blue Mussel Cafe a couple times on our photo adventures, but it was definitely our first time enjoying the vibes and good seafood.

The day was perfect but windy, the wait was long to be seated, but the beach was minutes away. We decided to sneak away to the beach to hang out and to medicate. Vee had rolled two joints so we just sat down and enjoyed the ocean and the sun.

We finally got seated and looked at the menu - it was so hard to pick! We settled on an ADL cheese & lobster dip which was mouth-watering and then we both had the halibut as mains, served with some Island potatoes of course. We ate and laughed while the sun was setting and it was quite the most perfect PEI night.

PEI Beaches and sand dunes

I have to say it's been a while since i've updated the blog, but it doesn't mean I haven't been working on lots of new work. It's been 7 months since we packed up everything we had (or most of it ) into a tiny u-haul trailer and made the trek east to PEI from Toronto. We've been settling in well but it was weird transitioning back into island life while it being winter time where most people turn into hermits and stay inside. We made a point of always trying to get out somewhere either a beach or a forest every weekend to take some photos and just enjoy island locations during any season. We went for a drive to one of our favourite beaches on PEI, Lakeside Beach located on the north shore and is part of Tourism PEI's Central Coastal Drive. It was an absolutely beautiful day regardless of the fact there was still snow on the ground and it was about 5 degrees outside. If you get the chance, don't miss out on this gem of a location. You wont want to miss the beautiful costal beach vibes with scenic views full of nice big sand dunes. Check out the rest of the images below!

A REAL "IRL" EXPERIENCE WITH PEI'S FIRST INSTAMEET by Sean Berrigan

HILL FLARE

On Sunday a group of 30+ Instagramers ascended upon a small hidden gem of a location within the eastern end of PEI called Mooney's Pond. For the first time, an event of this kind has taken place on PEI, taking inspiration from bigger city IG meetups like in Toronto, and New York. It's interesting how Instagram and social media has made it so easy to feel like you really know someone by what they share online. It's even more interesting when you get an opportunity to gather a community of like minded individuals together to network and get up to something creative. It was truly amazing to see such a great crowd of people show up and bare the cold and snow to trek through some awesome trails and fire of some flares and smoke grenades..for the gram along the way :)

Special thanks to The Morell River Management Co-op for allowing us to host the event there and to our friends at Receiver Coffee Co for hooking all the attendees up with free drip coffee for the hike.
